HOLOBIOSONICS: An artistic research project by Lucy Powell and Ally Bisshop. Holobiosonics discursively and collaboratively investigates themes in transdisciplinary environmental praxis, through the lyrical and affective medium of the sonic essay.

Each sonic essay is an assemblage:  interview excerpts with practitioners from different disciplines; field recordings; archival sound; other sonic fragments. Each sonic essay forms the basis of a public listening salon and an expanded group reading practice.

Holobiosonics embraces the post-individualist idea of the holobiont (after Lynn Margulis) as a way of imagining a methodology that brings together concepts and tools from art and science, within a practice that reflects the fundamentally entangled and symbiotic nature of life.
